Executive Director

About this Position

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have an overall strategic and operational responsibility of the organization’s staff, programs, finances, fundraising, and the execution of its mission and vision.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management:
• Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of financial and administrative systems.
• Establish transparent communication and act as liaison between the BOD, stakeholders and staff.
• Perform HR and financial duties for the organization including creating and implementing policies that adhere to non-profit best practices.
• Lead, coach, develop, and retain high-performance staff.
• Ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
Fundraising & Communications:
• Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program
operations.
• Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations
with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
• Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.

Planning & New Business:
• Design strategic plans and financial operational budgets for the organization.
• Build partnerships with organizations, establish relationships with funders and political and community leaders.
• Foster new relationships with potential donors and secure new funding streams.

Advocacy, Equity and Inclusion:

• Meet with local leaders and elected officials to advance equity and policy change.
• Represent the organization in town halls, panels, and coalitions at local and state levels.
• Advocate for the wellbeing and the human rights of the Latino, Latinx, indigenous, immigrant and refugee populations.
• Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion of the Latino/x communities of color at various levels.

Qualifications

The Executive Director is committed to Casa Latinos Unidos’ mission and vision. All candidates should have proven leadership and nonprofit operations or program management experience.

Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in organizational management, nonprofit management, business administration, communications, public health, or social work.
• 5 years of nonprofit management experience; track record of effectively leading a program or an organization including creating and implementing new programs, increasing organizational revenue, and/or leading successful teams.
• Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
• Knowledge of nonprofit HR and financial best practices.
• Strong desire to engage with a wide range of stakeholders in a variety of settings.
• Ability to orchestrate fundraising plans and actively seek grant writing opportunities.
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
• Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
• Must be bilingual and bicultural – Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in Spanish and English.

Compensation:

Full-time exempt position with a salary range from $65,000 to $90,000 per year depending on experience plus additional employee benefits.
