Valued CLU Supporter…
thanks to your continued support, our communities continue to grow stronger. This past quarter, we were able to provide critical resources including: financial assistance, educational opportunities, food box support, and direct navigation services to families who’ve needed it most. We invite you to take a look at this month’s newsletter and get involved by volunteering or contributing to our fundraising campaigns! – The CLU Team

🍭What a sweet talk!

Earlier this year, we hosted two “Sweet Talk” sessions with Global Nutrition Empowerment to introduce our diabetes club. Participants learned about diabetes symptoms, types, and medications. Both sessions were held at our Lebanon Office (500 Weldwood Drive Building C Room 120) in February and March, with over 50 participants in attendance. Folks who completed both
sessions were awarded a $30 giftcard and a certificate. Many signed up for FREE blood pressure checks after the second session!
🥑Serving our families, one meal at a time

Since January, we’ve helped feed over 200 families living in Linn and Benton counties through our Food BoxInitiative. In fact,
food deliveries were made to families living in Albany, Lebanon, and Corvallis.
Through our partnership with the South Corvallis Food Bank, our donors, and our CLU volunteers, we are able to provide these
emergency food boxes to households in an accessible and culturally specific manner. Our bi-weekly schedule allows
families to stop by our office or have the boxes delivered to their homes on Thursdays.
FOOD BOXES AVAILABLE EVERY OTHER THURSDAY!

🌱Planting the seeds for success at CLU💡
We’d like to spotlight two of our dedicated interns, Gabby and Erica, who played a vital role in supporting our food box program during the winter/spring time!
Meet Gabby!

“My name is Gabby and I am a second-year Master’s in public health student at OSU. As part of myinternship, I’ve had the pleasure of focusing on the Food Box program, and putting my experience and skills working in food and nutrition to use. CLU has provided me with the opportunity to work directly with community organizations that work to foster healthy, thriving communities,
which will be helpful in my future career in public health”.
Meet Erica!

“I’m currently in my 2nd year in the MPH program at OSU, focusing on Health Systems and Policy. I’ll be graduating this spring! A lot of my work beforehand surrounded the field of human services, specifically homelessness and food insecurity. At CLU, a lot of my work revolved around their Food Box Program, but I was also able to interact with clients, translate, and go on trips with staff to workshops! I was able to get a more in depth understanding of how nonprofits run- and the constant development to further
assist their community!”
